This leads me to believe the device itself works perfectly, and its something about the PS3 Thinking it was probably a hardware problem, I wipped my Laptop HD out and plugged it into a seperate computer, and it worked without me even needing to prompt it. As far as the computer is concerned, nothing is connected. Neither are detected by windows.both have power from the device (Green light is on, and I can hear the disc spinning) but are notÄetected on Device Management or 3rd party programmes (SwissKnife). So far I have tested the enclosure on both the 40GB and new 500GB PS3 formatted HD's, and also on 2-3 different computers. So far I've been reading a lot of posts over the internet with people having similar problems, but with no definitive answer, so I hoped to get one :) However I've ran into a big problem - Windows Vista does not detect the Since then I've bought a HD Enclosure for my old HD, in the hope that I could use it as an external HD for some files I have. I recently upgraded my old 40GB PS3 HD with a 500GB one.
